AFROCROISER: when Lagos becomes a playground for global creativity

Last January, Lagos turned into a meeting point for two major music scenes. For one intense week, French and Nigerian songwriters came together at Mavin Records’ studios for a high-energy creative experience: AFROCROISER, a songwriting camp initiated by Sacem alongside Mavin Records and the French Embassy in Nigeria.

On the French side, Dany Synthé, Julio Masidi, Ozhora, PSK, Renaud Rebillaud, Seysey, Shannon and Voluptyk - all Sacem members - joined forces with Nigerian creators Mbryo, Andre Vibez, Magixx, Bayanni, Kold AF, Elestee, Deeno, Milar, Ragee and Ozedikus.

Together, these talents — behind collaborations with French and international artists such as Aya Nakamura, Gims, Vianney, Indochine, Jul, Jason Derulo, Major Lazer or Lil Baby, as well as leading afrobeats figures like Rema, Ayra Starr and Davido — brought their worlds together to explore bold new artistic directions.

Drawing from pop, afro-pop and urban music scenes, the participants wrote more than 60 tracks, blending French influences with Nigerian afrobeats in a spirit of experimentation and knowledge-sharing. A one-of-a-kind creative immersion, reflecting the energy of Lagos and the momentum of a genre now shaping global pop culture.

Beyond the music created, AFROCROISER embodies Sacem’s commitment to fostering cross-border collaborations and supporting works with strong international potential, by building lasting bridges between music ecosystems.

Go behind the scenes of the camp and relive this human and artistic adventure through the AFROCROISER video — an invitation to discover how tomorrow’s international collaborations come to life.
